Before ASAP, Rihanna is “holding it all together.” Rocky’s Trial: “She Cannot Control It” (Private)
In the final days before her partner ASAP Rocky’s trial on Monday, January 8, Rihanna is trying her hardest to support him. The 35-year-old beauty mogul, Rihanna, is “focusing on remaining calm as Rocky’s trial approaches next week,” an exclusive source tells Us Weekly. “She understands that she has no control over the situation and that her only option is to be there for Rocky.”
“She’s been strong for the whole family and is holding it all together for the sake of her children and Rocky, even though this is a stressful time,” the insider continues. In August 2022, word spread that Rocky, 35, had been taken into custody at the airport by the Los Angeles Police Department. The LAPD claims that in November 2021, Rocky—real name Rakim Mayers—got into a physical fight with a “acquaintance” and accidentally shot the victim, injuring them. After being arrested for many hours, the rapper was freed on bond.
Rocky was later identified as a defendant in a civil claim alleging emotional distress, abuse, and assault. A court ruled in a preliminary hearing held in November 2023 that there is enough evidence to proceed with a trial. “In general, the defendant refutes every allegation made in the complaint and explicitly disputes that the plaintiff has suffered any kind of harm or loss as a consequence of the defendant’s actions or inactions,” the statement stated. “The injuries and/or damages, if any, that were mentioned in the complaint were caused exclusively, directly, and close by the acts or omissions of answering defendant or by their negligence and/or intentionality.”
