Despite her battle with stiff-person syndrome, Celine Dion is a “fighter” who intends to perform again: Sources (Exclusive)

Céline Dion has no intention of having her struggle with stiff-person syndrome prevent her from performing live. “Céline is an adversary. She’s working with physicians and physical therapists to heal, but her muscular control isn’t as good as it once was, an exclusive source tells Us Weekly. “Céline has been taking time off to focus on her health, but once her medical team gives the all-clear, she plans to take the stage again.”

In an emotional Instagram post from a year ago, Dion disclosed that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological condition that results in muscle stiffness and spasms. She said in December 2022, “I’ve been dealing with health issues for a long time, and it’s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through.”4

Due to health concerns, Dion revealed at the time that she would be delaying her Courage World Tour until spring 2024. In May, the tour was formally canceled. “I really apologize for disappointing you all once more. Even when you’re 100[percent] fit, touring can be incredibly challenging, so I’m working really hard to regain my strength,” Dion posted on Instagram. “Although it pains me, it’s best that we call it quits on everything until I’m truly ready to take the stage once more. It’s not fair to you to keep delaying the shows. I want everyone to know that I will not give up. and I’m forward to see you once more!”
