It’s unlikely that Kate Middleton will be “particularly concerned” about the way the Crown presents her.

Prior to the premiere of The Crown’s sixth season, which marks the show’s first attempt to explore Kate Middleton and Prince William’s romance, a source told Us Weekly that Kate was attempting to “win people over” in order to maybe alter their perception of her.
Does Kate, however, really watch the show? Is she actually observing her portrayal in the Netflix series? No, Endgame author Omid Scobie tells ELLE.com that she deliberately stays away from self-promotion.

“I frequently don’t believe it when a celebrity claims, ‘Oh, I don’t read what’s written about me,’ or ‘I don’t look at that,’ because we all know that they’re all looking, especially as journalists who frequently field calls from publicists,” the man stated. “But I think Kate isn’t really looking at all, in my opinion. People tell me that she doesn’t even read the news when they say she doesn’t look. She simply doesn’t participate. It’s obvious that’s how it functions for her. And I don’t blame her for approaching it that way, considering how unique and challenging her lifestyle is. Therefore, I find it hard to believe that anything in The Crown would particularly disturb her.

But according to Scobie, her husband Prince William is probably a different story since, in the end, it’s about how his mother is portrayed. William and Harry had rather different views on how their mother appeared in the documentary and the things that she said, as we have known since the moment the contentious Princess Diana Panorama [interview] was taken down from the internet. It is my understanding that there was always going to be some worry or even fear around her potential portrayal in a television program. However, it doesn’t seem like anyone in the royal family is now watching it.
