Julia Roberts talks about her affection for Taylor Swift and how she and Joan Baez ended up performing together on stage.
Tuesday, Julia Roberts made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote her new movie, Leave The World Behind. However, she seemed most eager to talk about something else when she did so: Taylor Swift.
Roberts engaged Fallon in a game of Box of Lies before sitting down to talk about her first concert, her new film, how the Obamas became its producers, and, of course, her status as a self-described Swiftie. Fallon cited a June Instagram post from Roberts, which was written, “@taylorswift,” following her sighting of Swift live. I cherish you. We are grateful that you are everything we have ever needed! At all times.”
Roberts then referred to herself as a “swiftie” and a “hashtag superfan,” which are terms used to describe Swiftie admirers, and it turns out that she has documentation to support her claims.
Regarding the year-end statistics summary that Spotify distributes to its subscribers, Roberts remarked, “My Spotify wrapped was embarrassing.” “I figured as much,” rather than the hip “let me share this with all my friends” feeling.
In a lengthy video posted to the Tonight Show’s YouTube channel, Roberts revealed that she had taken her children, who were about 8 and 10 years old at the time, to their very first major concert. Additionally, Swift asked Roberts if she would like to dance on stage with other performers, such as Baez, before the event started.
Roberts admitted that she wasn’t sure because she gets nervous easily and perspires a lot. However, she changed into a Swift t-shirt and decided to go ahead after receiving encouragement from her 8-year-old and seeing that the attire she was wearing was the same one she had worn on The Ellen Degeneres Show a few days prior.
