Kaley Cuoco Discusses Her and Tom Pelphrey’s Distinct Parenting Style: “We’re Taking Our Time on This”
There won’t be any parenting counsel from Kaley Cuoco to other mothers.
The 38-year-old Big Bang Theory alum stated that she and her partner Tom Pelphrey had come to the conclusion that there isn’t a parenting guideline that works for everyone. “We’re doing this our way,'” the actress said to Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, January 11, “from the minute I even knew I was pregnant.” If there’s one thing I’ve learnt, it seems to be that your child is uniquely yours and not like any other child. Furthermore, you are not that parent, and my child does not need what that child needs. “We’ve kind of done that, and it’s kind of worked out great,” the woman said. “Therefore, my counsel is useless.”44
The Emmy-nominated actress continued by saying that she didn’t accept advise from other mothers either, “because it just gets to be a little too much” for her. She told ET, “There’s going to be more questions and probably anger than I want to hear.” In March 2023, Cuoco and Pelphrey, 41, welcomed their 10-month-old daughter, Matilda. The actress discussed her parenting philosophy and related her and Pelphrey’s first aircraft ride with their daughter over the Thanksgiving holiday during an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, January 8. It was scary because it was our first flight ever with this infant. We were incredibly afraid. What should we do, I wondered. Cuoco recalls, “We have to bring her sound machine on the plane.” It’s the only sound that puts her to sleep. To get her to sleep on the plane, [we] literally need to turn it on.
