“Loud Luxury” Has Been Made Popular by Blake Lively
Blake Lively, who made the decision to embrace “loud luxury” in the last weeks of 2023, claims that if last year was one of subdued luxury, 2024 will be a major step up. The essential component? a vibrant, brilliant Barbiecore lipstick to go with her pink-on-pink-on-pink look. With a carousel of images including her distinctive beachy, honey-blonde hair fashioned in glamorously undone curls over one shoulder and down her back, Lively made a strong argument for loud luxury on Instagram. (Said curls were created by Jennifer Yepez.)
Though the hair is thick, rich, and lovely in typical Lively style, the lipstick steals the show in this ensemble! Lively usually wears rosy nude lip colors, though she does occasionally choose something else entirely. But not for this particular evening out. She was eager to let her hair down, and the holidays seemed like the ideal occasion to do so. In terms of makeup, Carolina Gonzalez gave the star what she called a “human filter,” and Lively was especially fond of the lipstick. The actor posted on Instagram Stories, “I was in for a rude awakening when I washed it off and saw my real face.”
“Now, please show me how to get this plump, full-looking lip look.” While there are many bright pink lipsticks available, particularly in the wake of the Barbie movie, in another photo from her collection, you can notice a tube of Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick Balm in shade 163 Showstopping by Yves Saint Laurent. Rose cuddled up next to her accoutrements; the well-liked recipe leaves you with a bright hue and a conditioning, balm-like finish. Try MAC’s Amplified Lipstick in Do Not Disturb or Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipstick in Pink Promise, which is a real bright pink with a bit of sparkle, for a similar effect. We adore Rare Beauty’s Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipstick in Ascend, a vivid fuchsia, if you can’t live without a matte texture. Honestly, loud luxury seems like a great time. I’m on board!
