Margot Robbie shares her thoughts on the upcoming sequel to “Barbie”

Barbie, starring Margot Robbie, blasted big at the box office this summer, grossing over 1.4 billion dollars. In addition, the actress produced the Greta Gerwig-directed film. The Mattel toy is the main character of the film, which follows her from the imaginary “Barbieland” to the real world when things start to go wrong in her once-perfect life.
Robbie was questioned over her desire to create a follow-up to what appeared to be a stand-alone story in a recent interview with the Associated Press.

“I believe we gave this one our all. Robbie stated, “We didn’t plan for it to be a trilogy or anything like that. “It’s hard for me to imagine what would come after, because Greta gave this movie her all.”

She added that even with the abundance of franchises and sequels currently showing in theaters, “original films can still hit huge.”
Robbie went on, “It doesn’t have to be a remake, a prequel, or a sequel.” It could be entirely unique. With the large money to accomplish it, it can still be large. Additionally, just because a film features a female lead doesn’t indicate that it won’t succeed in all four quadrants—this is, I believe, a fallacy that many people still hold.
According to her explanation, she believes that the film’s popularity will allow other filmmakers to “have big original ideas and be given the budget to execute them properly.”
