‘Mean Girls’ reunion advertisement: Rachel McAdams discusses her decision not to participate.

Regina George didn’t think the “Mean Girls” commercial was attractive enough.
In a Wednesday interview with Variety, Leader of the Plastics Rachel McAdams gave her explanation for missing out on Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert’s reunion in a Walmart commercial last month.
“I wasn’t that excited about doing a commercial if I’m being totally honest,” McAdams admitted. “A movie sounded awesome, but I’ve never done commercials, and it just didn’t feel like my bag.”

“Moreover, I didn’t know that everyone was doing it,” she continued. That was something I learned later.” The “God, are you there? The star of “It’s Me, Margaret” hasn’t ruled out getting together with the North Shore High alums in the future. “I would, of course, always love to be part of a ‘Mean Girls’ reunion and hang with my Plastics,” remarked McAdams.

Walmart courted the “Mean Girls” co-stars for an advertisement ahead of Black Friday. This was the first of a series of advertisements that included the cast members of the popular 2004 film.

Along with several cast members making cameos, such as Daniel Franzese’s Damian Leigh and Rajiv Surendra’s Kevin Gnapoor, three of the Plastics from the movie repeated their adult roles. Additionally, Missy Elliott makes a cameo appearance in the advertisement; her song “Pass That Dutch” plays a significant role in the comedy.
