The sister Wives Janelle Brown Acknowledges Kody’s Split had I been able to, I would have stayed with the kids.

In the most recent episode of Sister Wives: Talk Back, Janelle Brown disclosed the moment she realized she couldn’t continue to be married to Kody Brown. Rewatching the season 18 premiere, Janelle, 54, said, “Honestly, for me, it really came down to the kids,” in part 1 of the TLC special that aired on Friday, December 22. Janelle said that she is content with her timeline when a fan questioned if she wished she had “left sooner.” Before Janelle declared their split in December 2022, the two had been spiritually married for almost thirty years.

“If Kody had continued to be the father he was for my kids for a long, long time, I would have stayed,” she said. However, that expense stopped being an issue with the breakdown of the relationship with the children. Logan, 29, Maddie, 27, Hunter, 26, Garrison, 25, Gabriel, 21, and Savanah, 18, are the six children that Kody, 54, and Janelle had together. Gabe and Garrison, their sons, were said to have disobeyed Kody’s rigorous COVID-19 guidelines in 2020, which caused the twosome to argue before they split up. Consequently, Janelle and her children did not celebrate the holidays with Kody and the rest of the family in 2021.

Janelle and her female Sister Wives co-stars discussed a number of scenes from the season 18 premiere during Sunday’s special. Among the scenes, Janelle told Christine Brown that Kody was still expecting a “apology” from their boys, which is why they were celebrating Christmas in “separate” ways.
