After months of anticipation, some of TV’s biggest personalities attended the 2023 Primetime Emmy Awards.
On Monday, January 15, celebrities descended onto Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater to attend the 75th annual Academy Awards ceremony, which was emceed by Anthony Anderson. Two months before the Emmys were originally scheduled to take place, in July 2023, the nominations were revealed. The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, both of which have ended, caused a delay in the ceremony.

For its fourth and final season, Succession received a total of 27 nominations, more than any other television program this year. With three nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series—Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, and Kieran Culkin—the successful HBO series became the first ever.

Succession won Best Television Series – Drama at the 2024 Golden Globes, one week prior to the Emmy Awards. Sarah Snook won the Best Actress in a Television Series — Drama trophy, while Culkin defeated Cox and Strong in the Best Actor in a Television Series — Drama category. In the supporting actor category, Matthew Macfadyen triumphed over co-stars Alan Ruck and Alexander Skarsgård. Succession won six trophies on Monday at the 2023 Emmys, continuing its winning record.
