Daryl Hall sues John Oates for trying to sell his stake in Primary Wave Music

The details of Daryl Hall’s restraining order against longtime musical collaborator John Oates have come to light.
The Associated Press reports that Hall, 77, filed a lawsuit against Oates, 75, over intentions to sell his share in their joint firm. According to reports, Oates’ plans to sell his stake in indie music publisher Primary Wave Music are in violation of their business agreement. (The terms of the contract have not been made public.)

On Wed., Nov. 22, a Nashville court opened portions of the lawsuit. The judge gave Hall a restraining order, according to the AP, to temporarily halt the sale while the legal action is still pending. The judge decided that until an arbitrator in a different dispute responds or the judge’s restraining order expires, Oates and other parties participating in his trust are unable to finalize the sale of Whole Oats Enterprises LLP to a private investment group.

The same day that Hall filed his lawsuit, the judge rendered his decision. Us Weekly verified on Wednesday that Hall had submitted an application for a temporary restraining order along with an unidentified allegation. Additional information was made accessible by a subsequent ruling from the magistrate. Oates and Hall have not discussed the legal drama in public. Us has requested comments.
