According to reports, Cher applies for Elijah Allman’s conservatorship.

According to reports, Cher has requested guardianship over her son Elijah Allman due to his purported struggle with drug misuse. Allman, 47, is allegedly “substantially unable to manage his own financial resources due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues,” according to records filed in Los Angeles Superior Court that TMZ received on Wednesday, December 27. Cher, 77, makes this allegation.

Elijah, 47, was born to Cher and her late husband Gregg Allman, 69, who passed away in 2017 from cancer. Documents released on Wednesday reveal Cher’s fear that Elijah, who is supposed to get funds from a trust Gregg established prior to his passing, will be “spent on drugs,” putting his “life at risk.”
According to People, the complaint further claims that Marieangela King, Elijah’s estranged wife, is unfit to serve as his conservator since “their tumultuous relationship has been marked by a cycle of drug addiction and mental health crises.” Instead, Cher feels that since she has “worked tirelessly to get Elijah into treatment and get him the help he needs,” she would be the most qualified person to oversee her son’s conservatorship.

The court has scheduled a hearing for March 6, 2024, to consider the possibility of conservatorship.
After King, 36, accused music icon Cher of attempting to kidnap Elijah last year, Cher filed this lawsuit. King stated in a court filing that Us Weekly was able to receive in October 2022 that she and Elijah were trying to get back together in November 2022 after splitting up the previous year. On November 30, 2022, King claims that the couple was staying at a hotel in New York when four individuals entered their room and “removed” Elijah.
