Ashley Judd is still dealing with the tragedy of her mother Naomi Judd’s suicide, over two years after she passed away.
On April 30, 2022, the country music icon passed away via a self-inflicted gunshot wound at her Tennessee home. She was seventy-six. The first person to discover the body was Ashley, 55. On the Wednesday, January 10th episode of the podcast “All There Is With Anderson Cooper,” Ashley stated, “My mother’s death was traumatic and unexpected because it was death by suicide, and I found her.” “And so, my grief followed the trauma in lockstep, creating this catastrophic dynamic.”

Wynonna Judd and Naomi Judd performed as The Judds for many years, garnering nine Country Music Association honors and five Grammy honors. She battled depression even though she was one of country music’s most beloved stars. “This [the depression] never ended.” In a December 2017 interview with Today, Naomi stated, “I didn’t get off my couch for two years.” “I was so miserable that I was immobile.” “I refused to even clean my teeth. She said, “I wouldn’t get out of my pajamas.” “When my spouse, my girlfriends, and [daughter] Ashley came over, I would simply go upstairs and lock my bedroom door.” .. You end up immobile.

Ashley opened up to Cooper about how she dealt with her mother’s melancholy during their talk.
