Prince Harry and Dominic West of the crown no longer communicate after once “Saying Too Much”
Prince Harry, the son of Charles, and Dominic West, who portrays King Charles III on The Crown, used to be close. In response to a question concerning his acquaintance with Harry, 39, West, 54, stated, “We sort of [lost touch because] I said too much in a press conference, and so, we didn’t speak after that,” during the Sunday, December 24, broadcast of “Sunday Morning” on Times Radio.
Subtly explaining what had transpired, West had made his initial remarks under pressure from radio host Kate McCann. West remarked, “I believe I was asked what we did.” “And] what we did to celebrate once we arrived, and I think I said a little too much.” In 2013, West and the Duke of Sussex embarked on an Antarctic trek with wounded war veterans as part of the charitable Walking With the Wounded program. (Harry, a veteran himself, regularly volunteers his time to support other ex-service members.)
At a press conference in January 2014, West was questioned about their Walking With the Wounded experience, over a year after they set out on their tour. The actor exclaimed at the time, “[Harry] was very much part of the team.” He appeared to be an expert at constructing latrines. In order to deflect the wind, he constructed this amazing castellated building, which included a toilet roll holder. Walking With the Wounded and their subsequent falling out “were over ten years ago,” West said on Sunday. Consequently, West disregarded Harry’s recommendation to play the 75-year-old Charles in The Crown. In the fifth season of 2022, West joined the Netflix series, taking Josh O’Connor’s place as the older Charles.
